Letter to District 32
|
Dear Residents and Friends, I am a lifelong resident of Williamsburg County. Growing up it was drilled into me that part of making things better was my responsibility. In one way or another, I’ve been working toward positive change most of my life. Now after much discussion, prayer, and consideration and with the full support of my family and friends I am honored to submit myself for public service. I plan to bring fresh ideas and positive solutions to the State House beginning with my candidacy for State Senator of District 32 which includes parts of Georgetown, Berkeley, Florence, Horry and all of Williamsburg County. I would like to see more of our young people being able to prosper locally. Raising families more comfortably due to better paying jobs. I’ve long been concerned with the lack of jobs and opportunities in this district. For far too long our young people have been forced to move to other cities and states searching for better opportunities and decent wages. I know that there are workable solutions available that will enhance our District’s ability to attract high paying jobs. Another important issue is the way that we treat people who have been convicted of a non-violent criminal offense. When a person is convicted of such a felony that charge remains on their criminal record, forever. This makes it almost impossible for that person to find gainful employment for the rest of their lives. First time offenders deserve a one-time chance to have their records expunged so that they can become productive tax paying members of society, instead of a group of people who are permanently unemployable. This District’s 23 year incumbent is the only Democrat in South Carolina to receive an “A” from Tea Party Governor Nikki Haley’s legislative report card. That means he does what she likes. Their agenda fails to provide leadership and leaves us with few jobs and no growth. The incumbent is also very well-funded. In order to me to serve the people of District 32, this will have to be an organized, grassroots driven, and aggressive campaign! I need your help. Join us and take some ownership over our communities and our future! There is a place on this campaign for everyone that wants to help make things better. I have been, and will continue to, travel the five counties of this District meeting people; listening to their concerns, introducing myself and our campaign plus sharing my thoughts on solutions. I understand that I cannot win this election all alone. That is why I am turning to the community, people who desire and are committed to progress! I’m inviting you to get involved with our campaign to help make the difference in this race! Volunteer! Make calls, knock doors, register people to vote or talk to your neighbors, there is something for everyone! Maybe you don’t have much free time. Your early contribution will give our campaign a tremendous boost. Your gift of $5, $20, $50, $100, $250, $500 or $1000 (maximum amount), will help us raise the initial funds needed to win this race. Our goal is to raise $50,000 by February 29, 2012. I ask for your encouragement, your support, and your vote in this great challenge. Thank you in advance for your all of your energy and support. With kindest regards, I am Sincerely, Cezar E. McKnight
